Giant sunflower – envelope

Giant sunflower, Mongolian Giant grows 3 feet tall, maybe more. Stands beautiful and blooms all summer. The sunflower head, sways – as in one picture – when it is ready to harvest seeds. If you let the seeds sit, there is a great food for the birds throughout the autumn. The seeds are as big as teeth 🙂 If you have the strength, and of course you do that when you have grown this giant yourself, to peel some seeds. There are the nicest edible seeds inside the large seed capsule.
Enjoy some salted seeds, while enjoying a glass in your kitchen garden on a summer evening – and practice the technique of peeling sunflower seeds!
