The seeds are sown by hand in rows or in raised bed. An annual plant with beautiful yellow/light green leaves, which you can pick all summer. Good for summer salads or as a “tortilla-leaf” with a mild spinach-like taste and very easy to grow. Also easy to grow like mini greens. The plant grows up to 2-3 meters or more – very beautiful in rows and gives a beautiful contrast to the darker-green in the garden.
Sowing time: from beginning of March-May
Planting distance: Rows 30 cm
Sowing depth: 1 cm
The Seed Garden
We grow the seeds in the local seed garden, a little outside Copenhagen in Denmark. Everything is grown by hand and without the use of chemicals. We harvest the seeds in August-October, clean them and test for germination. Then the seeds are packed by hand and send out to all of you, to grow a new nourishing edible landscape.
Seeds from Copenhagen Seeds can be grown on balconies, allotment gardens, backyards, rooftops, and kitchen gardens.
The product and the content
Seeds are stored best – cool, dark and dry – and if not all 3 conditions can be met, it is dark and dry to prefer. In every of the paper packages, there are enough seeds for growing through the season, and for some of the varieties, you maybe use only a few the first season. Then, keep the seeds for the next season, seeds can be stored and last for several years.
