This variety of fennel is seed fennel, the plant has no special leaf growth, but uses all the energy to set seeds, which thus get a strong taste of fennel and licorice. The seed is used as a spice, for winter teas or in dressings and hot dishes. Is partially self-seeding and you can scatter the seeds by hand in the autumn. The plants grow well, as part of a flower bed or between the rows of cabbages.
